Public Health Preparedness Webcast
Certified in Public Health Continuing Education (CPHCE) Credits
This supplemental issue of PHR focuses on the CDC-funded Centers for Public Health Preparedness (CPHP). The CPHP program was established in 2000 to strengthen terrorism and emergency preparedness by linking academic expertise to state and local health agency needs. From 2004 through 2010, 27 CDC-funded centers located in accredited schools of public health provided education, training, and technical assistance to meet the public health preparedness and response needs of their local and state health agency partners. This program represented one of the most substantial Federal investments in public health workforce development in the last several decades. The supplement provides a unique look back at contributions of the program to national readiness.
